Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-06-01

Rules for using Etsy Tracker, plan limits, and acceptable use.

Agreement and acceptance

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of Etsy Tracker, including the public website, the account dashboard, the browser extension, and the billing flows connected to the service. By creating an account, installing or using the browser extension, opening the dashboard, starting a paid subscription, or otherwise using any part of the service, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not create an account, install the extension, subscribe to a paid plan, or continue using the service. Where a specific feature has additional rules shown in-product or in the billing flow, those rules apply together with these Terms.

These Terms apply together with the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy, and the Cookie Policy where relevant. If there is a conflict between these Terms and a specific policy on the topic that policy covers (for example, refunds under the Refund Policy), the more specific policy controls for that topic. Nothing in these Terms is intended to override mandatory consumer or data-protection rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

Eligibility

Etsy Tracker is a research and tracking tool intended for Etsy sellers, aspiring sellers, product researchers, and small teams performing legitimate market research on public Etsy listings and shops. By using the service you confirm that you are able to enter into a binding agreement for business or research purposes and that you will use the service for your own research, product decisions, or internal business workflows.

You must not use the service if applicable law, sanctions, marketplace rules, or a court order prohibit you from doing so. You are responsible for confirming that your use of the service is allowed in your jurisdiction and consistent with the terms of any marketplace or platform you interact with using the extension or the dashboard.

Etsy Tracker is not intended for children. The service is designed for adult sellers and researchers running a business or evaluating whether to start one. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us through the website chat widget or Feedback on the website so the account can be reviewed and, where appropriate, removed.

Account responsibility

  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials, session cookies, install tokens, and device access secure. Treat them like any other business credential.
  • You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account, including activity performed by team members, contractors, or anyone else you allow to use the account or the extension install.
  • You must keep the contact information on your account accurate, especially the account email used for login, billing receipts, and support. Out-of-date contact information can block account recovery and billing notifications.
  • You must not share, sell, sublicense, rent, or transfer your account credentials, session, install token, or subscription entitlement to another person or organization without our written permission. Multi-seat use, when offered, is handled through the plan and the billing flow, not through shared credentials.
  • If you suspect unauthorized access to your account or extension install, report it through the website chat widget or Feedback on the website as soon as possible so we can help secure the account and, where needed, invalidate active sessions.

Service description

Etsy Tracker is an independent research and tracking tool for public Etsy shops and listings. The service helps sellers organize competitor shops, tracked listings, saved keywords, and workspaces or projects, and to review movement over time in a dashboard.

Core functionality typically includes: shop and listing tracking, workspace or project organization, saved keyword lists, dashboard and shop and listing investigation views, movement summaries built from stored snapshots and quantity deltas, sales candidates derived from quantity drops, restock detection for quantity increases, and Found via provenance that records where a listing or shop entered your workspace.

The dashboard also reflects states such as unavailable, historical, closed, and not-selling based on stored snapshots and signals collected while the user browses public Etsy pages. These states are research signals about listing or shop behavior over time and are not a legal or financial classification of the underlying seller.

Available features, limits, and views depend on your plan, your account status, and the current version of the product. Features can be added, changed, or removed as the service evolves.

Browser extension role

Etsy Tracker includes an optional browser extension that runs in the user's own browser. The extension operates on pages the user opens themselves during normal browsing and does not open Etsy pages on its own initiative outside of the user's active session.

Etsy search-result discovery is browser-side through the WebExtension: when the user opens an Etsy search result page in their browser, the extension reads public information visible on that page and submits normalized signals to the service so the dashboard can associate those signals with the user's workspace, saved keywords, and tracked shops.

Where the extension detects promoted or ad cards on public Etsy pages, those cards are filtered out of the organic movement signals so that tracked movement reflects organic listings rather than paid placements.

Backend does not scrape Etsy search pages server-side. The service does not run headless browsers, server-side crawlers, or backend automation against Etsy search pages, and it does not attempt to bypass Etsy captcha, Cloudflare, DataDome, or similar protections. Any such checks must be solved by the user in their own browser, exactly as they would during normal browsing.

We do not read Etsy cookies. We do not read Etsy localStorage. We do not read Etsy sessionStorage. The extension does not access private Etsy account data such as order history, buyer messages, saved payment methods, or shop admin pages, and the service does not perform browser fingerprinting to identify visitors across sites.

The extension is a tool that helps the user record what they already see in their own browser. It is not a way to access Etsy content that the user is not otherwise able to see, and it is not a way to act on behalf of the user against Etsy's own login, ordering, or messaging systems.

Etsy independence and no affiliation

Etsy Tracker is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or partnered with Etsy, Inc. or any of its subsidiaries. Any references to Etsy, shop names, listing titles, or product images belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify the public content that the user is researching.

The Etsy name, logo, and related trademarks are the property of Etsy, Inc. Nothing in the service or on the website should be read as a claim of ownership over those marks or as a claim of an official relationship with Etsy.

You are responsible for complying with Etsy's own terms of use, seller policies, intellectual property rules, and any other applicable marketplace policies when you use the service, when you act on data shown in the dashboard, and when you make product or business decisions based on that data.

Plans, limits, and access

  • Plans may limit the number of workspaces or projects, tracked competitor shops, tracked listings, saved keywords, history depth, exports, API access, monitor frequency, and the number of accounts, sessions, or devices that can use the service at once.
  • When a plan limit is reached, when an account is under review, when billing is unpaid, or when account status changes, parts of the dashboard may become read-only, may hide certain views, or may lock specific actions until the limit is resolved.
  • Limits are enforced both in the product and, where appropriate, on the backend. Limits, thresholds, and included features can change prospectively as plans evolve; changes to plan structure apply going forward and are shown in the billing flow or the account area.
  • Free access, trial access, and paid access can depend on account status, prior use, billing state, referral or invite state, install-token continuity, and other legitimate anti-abuse signals used to prevent multi-account abuse. Access may be adjusted where the service reasonably believes such abuse is occurring.
  • The service may introduce new plans, retire old plans, or change the composition of a plan for future billing periods. Where a change reduces something you already paid for during the current paid period, that change will normally take effect at the next renewal rather than mid-period, unless required earlier by law or for security reasons.

Billing via Paddle

Paid subscriptions to Etsy Tracker are processed by Paddle as Merchant of Record. Paddle operates the checkout, handles payment card data, issues receipts, calculates and remits applicable taxes where required, manages subscription billing cycles, and handles failed-payment retries and dunning.

Because Paddle acts as Merchant of Record, Paddle is the seller of record for the transaction and appears on your card or bank statement. Etsy Tracker receives billing identifiers, subscription status, plan level, renewal state, country for tax purposes where relevant, and similar metadata that we need to grant and manage access. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers or CVV codes.

Prices, plans, included limits, and available add-ons can change prospectively. Where a price change affects an existing subscription, it normally applies from the next billing cycle, and Paddle or the billing flow will show the updated amount before renewal where required by law.

Applicable taxes, currency conversion, exchange rates, and local payment rules are handled by Paddle and can affect the final amount charged, refunded, or displayed in your local currency.

For your own security, do not send full payment card numbers, CVV codes, or full bank credentials through the website chat widget or Feedback on the website, email, or any support channel. Include only the account email, the Paddle transaction ID or subscription ID, and the receipt or invoice reference when you need billing support.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel a paid subscription from the account billing area or through the Paddle-hosted subscription management flow linked from your account. Cancellation stops future renewals unless the billing flow explicitly says otherwise. Paid access normally remains available until the end of the current paid period, at which point the account moves back to its free or restricted state.

Refund requests are governed by the Refund Policy and are handled case by case, taking into account timing, usage, duplicate charges, technical failure, applicable consumer law, and Paddle's own payment policies. Approval is not automatic and depends on the specific facts of the request.

To submit a refund request, contact us through the website chat widget or Feedback on the website and include your account email and, where available, the Paddle transaction ID, the subscription ID, and the receipt reference. Providing this information at the start of the conversation reduces back-and-forth and helps process the request faster.

Detailed refund rules, timelines, and eligibility criteria are not restated here; they are described in the Refund Policy, which controls for the specific topic of refunds. These Terms do not create any additional refund entitlement beyond what the Refund Policy and applicable law provide.

Acceptable use

  • Use the service for your own Etsy research and business decisions, or for research and decisions that your team, employer, or clients have authorized you to perform.
  • Use the dashboard, the extension, and the account features in the ordinary way they are designed to be used: browsing public Etsy pages, organizing research, saving keywords, and reviewing movement over time.
  • Respect the plan limits, the marketplace rules of any platform you interact with (including Etsy), and the intellectual property and privacy rights of third parties whose content or shops appear in your research.
  • Provide accurate account, billing, and support information. When we ask for context to help with an account, billing, or security issue, respond in good faith so we can help resolve it.
  • Report bugs, suspected security issues, or suspected abuse of the service promptly and in good faith rather than exploiting them.

Prohibited resale, export, automation, and abuse

  • Do not resell, sublicense, rebrand, or repackage the service, the dashboard data, the movement signals, or any part of the analytics as your own product or as part of a third-party product.
  • Do not bulk-export data for third parties beyond the export features explicitly offered by your plan, and do not use allowed export features to build a competing dataset or a syndicated data feed for others.
  • Do not scrape, crawl, or perform automated extraction against the service itself, including the dashboard, the API surface, the extension endpoints, or any internal endpoints exposed to the browser.
  • Do not attempt to bypass plan limits, entitlement checks, device or session limits, anti-abuse controls, or read-only or locked views.
  • Do not share your credentials, install token, or active session with other people or organizations to grant them access they did not pay for.
  • Do not attack the service or its infrastructure. This includes but is not limited to denial-of-service traffic, brute-force login attempts, credential stuffing, injection, reverse engineering intended to extract non-public logic, malware distribution, and abusive load patterns designed to degrade service for other users.
  • Do not use the service, the extension, or the API to bypass Etsy captcha, Cloudflare, DataDome, rate limits, ordering flows, messaging systems, or any similar Etsy or third-party protection, and do not use the service to automate actions against Etsy accounts or listings.
  • Do not use the service to harass shop owners, to impersonate them, to submit false reports about them, or to violate their privacy or intellectual property rights.

Data accuracy and no guaranteed sales

The dashboard shows research signals derived from publicly visible information and from snapshots collected over time. Data can be delayed, incomplete, missing, temporarily unavailable, or later corrected. Etsy page structure, search behavior, listing metadata, and public APIs can change without notice, and those changes can affect discovery, tracking, and the accuracy of specific signals.

Movement analytics are built from stored snapshots and quantity deltas: comparing a listing's stored state over time to detect changes. Because we work from snapshots rather than from Etsy's internal sales log, movement is always an inference, not a direct measurement of transactions.

Quantity drops shown in the dashboard are sales candidates, not proof of confirmed sales. A quantity drop can also reflect inventory adjustments, listing edits, seller-side corrections, variant changes, temporary hiding, or other seller-driven changes that are not sales.

Restocks and other quantity increases are not proof of sales either; they typically reflect the seller adding inventory or editing the listing. These restocks are shown to help you distinguish inventory refills from movement, not to imply that a specific transaction occurred.

The service does not promise precise sales counts, precise revenue figures, promised ranking, promised traffic, or any specific business outcome. Any numbers shown are research signals for your own analysis. The service is not financial, legal, tax, accounting, or professional business advice, and it should not be treated as such.

You are responsible for validating any conclusions before making business decisions, product launches, purchases, or investments based on data shown in the dashboard.

Third-party services

The service depends on third-party providers to operate. These typically include Paddle for billing, hosting and database infrastructure providers, monitoring and support tooling, browser vendors that host and update the extension, and public Etsy pages and endpoints that the extension reads while the user browses.

Outages, changes, deprecations, or policy changes at these third parties can affect the availability, accuracy, or specific features of the service. When such a change affects tracking or discovery, we will normally adjust the product to accommodate it, but we do not control third-party timing or third-party decisions.

Some third-party services have their own terms and privacy policies that apply to your interaction with them (for example, Paddle's checkout terms when you complete a purchase, or your browser vendor's extension policies). Those third-party terms apply directly between you and the third party.

Intellectual property

Etsy Tracker, including the website, the dashboard, the browser extension, the underlying software, the user interface, the visual design, the documentation, the brand, the wordmark, and the analytical reports produced by the service, is owned or licensed by the service operator and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and any applicable plan limits, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the service for your own Etsy research and business decisions during the period your access is active.

You must not copy, modify, translate, decompile, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the service beyond what applicable law permits and cannot be waived. You must not remove or obscure copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices in the service or its output. You must not resell, republish, or redistribute the service or its output as your own product or as a substantial component of another product without our written permission.

Feedback, suggestions, or ideas you send us about the service are not confidential. By sending them, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right to use them to improve the service, without obligation to you.

User content and data

You remain responsible for the content you submit to the service, including workspace names, project names, saved keywords, feedback and support messages, screenshots, and other material you attach to a support request. You confirm that you have the right to submit this content and that it does not violate applicable law, third-party rights, or the privacy of others.

By submitting content or data to the service, you grant us the rights we need to receive, store, process, display back to you, back up, and secure that content in order to provide, support, and improve the service, to handle billing and account questions, and to detect and prevent abuse.

Do not submit content that is unlawful, that discloses third-party private personal data you are not allowed to share, that infringes intellectual property rights, or that contains security-sensitive material that should not leave your environment. In particular, do not send Etsy account passwords, full payment card numbers, CVV codes, or full bank credentials through support channels.

Where you research public Etsy shops and listings that belong to other sellers, you must treat that information with reasonable care and use it only for legitimate research and business decisions consistent with these Terms, applicable law, and Etsy's own policies.

Service availability and changes

The service may change, evolve, degrade, become temporarily unavailable, or be discontinued in part or in whole. Features may be added, changed, renamed, or removed as the product evolves and as we respond to changes at Etsy, at browser vendors, at Paddle, or at infrastructure providers.

Etsy-side changes — including changes to search result layout, listing metadata, public APIs, anti-bot protections, or seller tools — can affect discovery and tracking and can require us to adjust or temporarily pause specific features while we adapt.

Planned maintenance, unplanned outages, dependency failures, network issues, and other operational events can cause interruptions. We do not promise uninterrupted, error-free, or continuously accurate service, and we do not guarantee any specific uptime, latency, or freshness target unless expressly stated in a written agreement with you.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the service, in whole or in part, if we reasonably believe an account is involved in abuse, fraud, chargeback abuse, non-payment, security risk, plan-limit bypass, credential sharing, resale or export beyond allowed features, harassment of third parties, violation of Etsy's or another marketplace's rules, or violation of applicable law. Where practical and lawful, we will try to notify you and give you a chance to explain or remedy the issue first.

You may stop using the service at any time and cancel a paid subscription through the billing flow. Cancellation does not by itself entitle you to a refund for the current paid period beyond what the Refund Policy and applicable law provide.

After termination, some records may be retained where they are needed for legal, security, tax, billing, dispute-handling, or abuse-prevention reasons. Retention periods for those records are described in the Privacy Policy where applicable. Rights and obligations that by their nature should survive termination (for example, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity) will survive termination.

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties or conditions of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. This includes, without limitation, any implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, quiet enjoyment, accuracy, completeness, availability, uninterrupted operation, or results.

We do not warrant that the service will meet your requirements, that data shown in the dashboard will be accurate or complete for a specific listing, shop, keyword, or moment in time, that the service will operate without interruption or error, that defects will be corrected, or that the service will produce any particular business, ranking, traffic, revenue, or sales outcome.

The service is a research signal and workflow tool, not professional advice. Nothing shown in the dashboard, the extension, the documentation, or any support message constitutes financial, legal, tax, accounting, or professional business advice. Consult qualified professionals for those matters before acting.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. In those jurisdictions, the excluded warranties are limited to the minimum extent required by applicable law rather than removed entirely.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the service operator and its personnel, contractors, and providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost revenue, lost sales, lost data, lost goodwill, business interruption, or losses arising from marketplace decisions or business decisions you make based on data shown in the service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to the service and these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount actually paid by you for the service during a reasonable recent period preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) the minimum amount required by applicable law that cannot be waived.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, the exclusions and limitations above apply to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, and the remaining exclusions and limitations continue to apply.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud or for anything else that by law must remain the operator's responsibility.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the service operator, its personnel, contractors, and providers from and against any claims, demands, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: your misuse of the service; your violation of these Terms; your violation of applicable law or the rights of any third party (including intellectual property, privacy, and marketplace policy rights); your use of the service to perform abusive automation, resale, export, or bypass of protections; and any content or data you submit to the service.

We may, at our own expense, take over the defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you. In that case, you agree to cooperate reasonably with the defense of the claim.

Governing law and disputes

The governing law and the exclusive forum for disputes relating to the service and these Terms will be stated in the applicable checkout, account, or legal notice when finalized, or where required by applicable law. Until such a notice is published, we do not designate a specific country, state, or court in these Terms.

If a question or dispute arises about the service, your account, or these Terms, please raise it first through the website chat widget or Feedback on the website so we can work with you in good faith toward a resolution. Many issues, especially billing and access questions, can be resolved that way without formal proceedings.

Nothing in this section is intended to waive, restrict, or reduce mandatory consumer, data-protection, or other rights that cannot be waived under applicable law in your jurisdiction, including the right to bring a claim in the courts of your place of residence where the law provides for it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the service, in third-party dependencies such as Paddle, in applicable law, or in operational practice. When we update the Terms, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page is updated accordingly.

Where a change is material — for example, a change that affects your rights, your obligations, billing, or the way the service handles user content or data — we will communicate the change through the website, the account area, or the billing flow before the change takes effect, where reasonably practical.

Your continued use of the service after updated Terms take effect means the updated Terms apply going forward. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using the service and, if applicable, cancel your subscription through the billing flow before the change takes effect.

Contact

Questions about these Terms, about your account, or about how the service is being used in your situation can be sent through the website chat widget or Feedback on the website. Please include the account email you use to sign in and enough context — the page URL, the workspace, the shop or listing in question, the Paddle transaction or subscription ID for billing questions, and a short description of what you observed — so we can locate the account and respond without unnecessary back-and-forth.

We do not publish a public support email address in these Terms; using the in-product support route is the fastest way to reach us and lets us attach account context automatically. Do not include full payment card numbers, CVV codes, Etsy account passwords, or other sensitive credentials in any support message.

Etsy Tracker is an independent research tool for Etsy sellers. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Etsy, Inc. "Etsy" is a trademark of Etsy, Inc.

Discovery happens browser-side through the WebExtension on pages the user opens. We do not scrape Etsy search from the backend and do not read Etsy cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, or private Etsy account data.
