What is Etsy Tracker?
Etsy Tracker is an independent research tool for Etsy sellers. It helps you research niches by tracking competitor shops and listings and showing movement evidence in a dashboard. The idea is simple: find what moves, avoid what sits, and build a stronger product on top of what already works.
The product has two parts: a browser extension that adds competitor shops and listings from Etsy pages you open, and a web dashboard where snapshots, movement signals, and listing context are shown.
Why do I need the browser extension?
Etsy search-result discovery happens browser-side through the extension on pages the user opens. When you open Etsy search for a keyword you compete in, the extension reads the public organic result list from that page and lets you add shops/listings to your workspace. Promoted/ad cards are filtered where possible so you focus on organic results.
Backend does not scrape Etsy search pages server-side. Without the extension there is no way for Etsy Tracker to see the search results you are studying.
Does it read my Etsy cookies?
No. We do not read Etsy cookies, we do not read Etsy localStorage/sessionStorage, we do not read private Etsy account data, and we do not use browser fingerprinting. The extension only reads the public HTML of the Etsy pages you choose to open.
You do not need to sign in to Etsy for Etsy Tracker to work, and Etsy Tracker never asks for your Etsy account credentials.
How do I register?
Open sign in to create or open your account. Registration and sign-in keep your workspaces, tracked shops and listings, plan and access state, extension link, and billing state connected under one account.
The free plan is enough to try the entire flow before you decide whether to upgrade.
How do I install extension?
Open install extension for the short install guide. Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Firefox are supported. Pin the extension so it stays visible on Etsy pages.

How do I add a competitor?
Open Etsy search for a keyword you compete in, open or pin the extension, and add competitor shops and listings to your workspace from the extension popup. They then appear in the dashboard and inherit the keyword as Found via context, so you always know which search idea produced the discovery.
Why don’t I see movement immediately?
Movement needs snapshots over time. The first import creates a baseline for the shops and listings you just added. Later checks compare newer snapshots against that baseline and surface changes in quantity, favorites, price, and listing state where those signals are available.
Give the tracker time to collect enough history. Etsy Tracker does not promise instant results.
What are sales candidates?
Sales candidates are inferred from quantity drops between snapshots. When a tracked listing shows a lower quantity than the previous snapshot, that delta is treated as a sales-candidate signal.
These are signals, not Etsy’s internal sales log. Etsy Tracker does not have access to a seller’s private order history and does not claim proof of exact orders.
What are restocks?
Quantity increases are marked as restocks, not sales candidates. A restock is when a seller appears to replenish inventory for a listing. Separating restocks from quantity drops keeps the sales-candidate signal cleaner and helps you distinguish real demand signals from inventory updates.
What does Found via mean?
Found via records the keyword or workspace search context where a shop or listing entered your workspace. When a tracked listing later starts moving, you can see which search idea produced that opportunity, and group discoveries back to the source niche.
Why are some items locked?
Locks come from plan limits and access state. Common reasons: you are on a plan whose shop/listing/keyword cap is reached, history depth is capped for your plan, an item is over your plan’s cap and is shown as read-only, or the workspace is on a free tier that limits some views.

How do plans and limits work?
The free plan lets you try the flow end to end. Paid plans increase caps on tracked shops, listings, keywords, and history depth, and unlock access where applicable. See pricing for the exact caps of each tier.
Paid subscriptions are processed by Paddle as Merchant of Record. That means Paddle handles the transaction, taxes, currency, and invoicing on our behalf.
Where do I report bugs?

To make a bug report useful, include: the account email you signed in with, the page URL where the problem happened, what you expected, what actually happened, and a screenshot if it helps. That lets us reproduce the issue on the exact shop/listing/workspace you were looking at.
How do billing/refunds work?
Billing is handled by Paddle as Merchant of Record. Paddle processes payments, taxes, currency, and invoices; Etsy Tracker manages your plan and access state on the account.
